#arthur’s face in the first two kills me #he’s telling him ‘you should go’ #but his eyes are pleading #they are saying ‘I need you’ #and when he realizes merlin wants to go with him #you can see the pure relief and joy wash over him #because arthur would never admit to anyone else that he didn’t want to go it alone #that he was afraid #and he never needs to say it to merlin because merlin knows #he knows that arthur is not a fearless untouchable man #and merlin goes not as a servant #not out of duty #but because there’s no place on earth he’d rather be #than by arthur’s side (Jess why?)
